Community Relations

In 1992 our CEO was installing antennas at various Dublin Fire stations. During one of these installations he was approached by Willie Bermingham founder of ALONE – the charity for the poor and homeless elderly people. The horror story told by Willie struck a chord and with the message “a little offering never ends” our company has supported ALONE every year since that chance meeting.

In 2014 we received a presentation from Marie Hounslow of Renewable World – the charity who are tackling poverty through renewable energy. Immediately we could see where a little support from each and every company involved with commercial renewable energy projects, even a small company like ours, that together we can make a huge difference to poor communities in the developing world. At KONA we do our small bit by donating a % of every order won and we encourage our clients to do likewise.

The Met Mast generously supplied will be invaluable for data collection for our Engineering students across various courses.”

Irmantas Remeika, Technical Manager at KONA said, “KONA are delighted to be in a position to assist the next generation on engineering students at ITT. The Renewable Energy industry is a very rewarding sector for careers in engineering and our partnership with ITT is sure to bring employment benefits to both KONA and engineering students alike.”

In 2009 we became involved with sponsoring offshore yacht racing. The synergies between our services and this wonderful sport include wind powered challenge & adventure. Initially we sponsored Arklow Sailing Club’s Annual Turbines Yacht Race which saw the yachts race around the Arklow Bank Offshore Windfarm. In recent years we have been supporting the ISORA series and the annual Dun Laoghaire to Pwlhelli race across the Irish Sea.
